Funeral For Mrs. Wubbens Held Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. Verna Wubbens were held on Monday, August 27, 1984 at 1:30 p.m. at the Second Christian Reformed Church. Pastor Orwin Duistermars officiated at the services.
Mrs. Ivan Slifer and Willis Nederhoff sang two selections. Miss Monica Doyen was organist. Flower attendants were Mrs. Gary Beving and Mrs. Steve Nielsen.
Casketbearers were Kent Campbell, David Byl, Wayne Shugar, Donald Boheman, Herman Groote, and Ralph Johnson. The interment service was held in Shiloh Cemetery. The Doyen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wubbens passed away Friday afternoon, August 24, at her home in Wellsburg due to a massive heart attack. She reached the age of 69 years, 2 months and 8 days.
She was born in Wellsburg on June 16, 1915, the daughter of Hank and Ida (Freerksen) Weitkamp. She attended the Wellsburg Public School and graduated with the Class of 1933. On June 12, 1936, she was married to Fred Wubbens at the Second Christian Reformed Church Parsonage in Wellsburg by the Rev. J. C. DeKorne. They made their home in Wellsburg following their marriage. Her husband passed away on December 28, 1981. This union was blessed with two daughters, Barbara and Karol.
Mrs. Wubbens was a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church of Wellsburg having made profession of faith on June 10, 1984.
Preceding her in death were her parents, an infant sister and her husband.
Those left to mourn her passing are her two daughters, Barbara and her husband, David Campbell of New Lenox, IL; Karol and her husband, Virgil Byl of Wellsburg; four grandchildren, Kent and Kathy Campbell; David and Diane Byl and many other relatives and friends.
