Lena Heinrich Services Held

Lena Heinrich, 88, of Wellsburg, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 20, at the Covenant Medical Center on Kimball in Waterloo.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 23, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wellsburg, with Rev. Max Zschiegner officiating.

Casket bearers were Bill Schoop, Robert White, Rob Heinrich, Robert Beck, Gerald Meyer and Eugene Harringa.

Interment was in Shiloh Township Cemetery, Wellsburg.

Lena G. Heinrich, daughter of Eike and Trientje Luppen Ruter, was born February 11, 1902, in Grundy county.

On February 14, 1935, Lena was united in marriage to Johannes Heinrich at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Wellsburg. They lived in Wellsburg all their married life.

Lena was a long time member of the Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johannes, in 1976; four brothers, Herman, Fred, Peter, Eike; and two sisters, Mrs. Grace Meyer and Mrs. Hilda Lindaman.

She is survived by one son Leland, of Wellsburg; one brother, John Ruter, five sisters, Mrs. Jesse Finke, Mrs. Gertie Rieken, Mrs. Emma DeNeui, Alice Ruter, all of Wellsburg, and Mrs. Edith Beck of Des Moines; and two grandchildren, Robert and Rochelle.

A memorial fund has been established.

The Doyen-Abels Funeral Home of Wellsburg was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
