Ardythe L. Siefken, 78, of Stuart, formerly of Plainfield, passed away Friday, June 7th, at the Community Care Center in Stuart. No services are currently planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be directed to Iowa Hospice or the Stuart Community Care Center Foundation, in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, PO Box 246, Stuart, Iowa 50250.

Ardythe was born May 26, 1935 the daughter of Harley and Alyce (Harlan) Lindaman in Wellsburg, Iowa. Her family owned and operated Lindaman Lumber Company in Wellsburg. She graduated from Wellsburg Community High School with the class of 1953. She married Roland Siefken at Fort Smith, Arkansas, while he was serving our country in the military. To this union they raised six children. The family later settled in Plainfield where Ardythe was employed nearby in the town of Waverly as a nurse's aid and enjoyed working with children and caring for others. She then attended business school in the evenings at Hawkeye Tech. With this degree she began working at CUNA Mutual Insurance until her retirement.

Ardythe and her husband organized "Operation Parent Storm", a group that provided information for families with loved ones in the Desert Storm conflict. She enjoyed bowling, traveling and most of all spending time with family. She was an avid card player and enjoyed playing Yahtzee and Skipbo with her family and was a very loving friend to everyone.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son: Scott Siefken; grandson: Travis Siefken; and two siblings: Robert Lindaman and Catherine Leiser.

Left behind to cherish her memories are her children: Josie Siefken of Boone, Cristie Sanford of Tuscon, AZ, Ginnie (Tony) Padden of Dexter, Barbie (Kevin) Hoins of Trumbull, NE, Leslie Thrasher of Ohio; daughter-in-law: Lydia Siefken of Nashua; grandchildren: Anastasia (James) Horan, Trent Siefken, Justin Siefken, Ryan Siefken, Ananda Steele, Alexandra Padden, Richard (Sarah) Hoins, Nicholas Hoins, Ethan Hoins, Benjamin Hoins, Abigail Hoins, Heather Thrasher, David Siefken, Amber Bundy; great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Michael, Emma; sister: Virginia (Alle) Jaspers of Ackley and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
