Susan A. Wyatt, 65, of Rural Hudson, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Reinbeck. Burial will follow at the Reinbeck Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Susan was born on November 29, 1947 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Wayne and Donna (Mason) Bean. She graduated from Reinbeck High School with the Class of 1966. Susan went on to earn her degree as a Registered Nurse from the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Susan worked for 35 years as a Registered Nurse at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, retiring in 2006. She is remembered as a compassionate and caring nurse by all of her patients and was loved and respected by all of her co-workers.
Susan was united in marriage to Frank Wyatt of April 26, 1969 at the Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Reinbeck. Together they welcome their sons Monte and Matt into their family. Susan enjoyed the farm life, fixing meals and running errands. She also enjoyed gardening, dancing and traveling, especially her trips with Frank to Arizona.
Susan was an active member of the Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Reinbeck, where she served on numerous committees. She was a member of the Goodtimers and a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Susan's true joy in life came from spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Susan is survived by her husband Frank of rural Hudson; sons Monte (Lisa) Wyatt of West Des Moines and Matt (Chelsea) Wyatt of Reinbeck; grandchildren Katie, Alison, Janie, Cael, Aiden and Ava Wyatt; sisters Janny Bean and Marsha Bean both of Reinbeck and brother James (Karen) Bean.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her step-mother Kay (Watson) Bean. We will all miss her but we have so many memories to cherish as she was a blessing to each of us.
