Rites Held For Anna Eckhoff
Anna Eckhoff, 95, passed away on September 6 at the Valley View Nursing Home in Eldora.
Pallbearers were Larry Meints, Arthur Frerichs, Darrell Freese, George Folkerts, Dean Folkerts, and Harris Reiter. Rev. Thomas J. Vos officiated.
Anna Eckhoff was born on October 23, 1895 in the Netherlands, the daughter of Henry and Anna Ryks Heeren. She came to America with her parents when she was 16 years old.
On January 27, 1916 she was united in marriage to Peter A. Eckhoff at the Christian Reformed Church of Parkersburg. After their marriage, they moved to their farm east of Steamboat Rock and farmed until their retirement when they moved to Steamboat Rock.
Anna was a faithful member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Wellsburg, and past member of the Ladies Guild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Peter; two infant daughters; one son, Arend G. Eckhoff of Steamboat Rock; one daughter, Mrs. Ordie Green of Ackley; two brothers, Louie and George Heeren, and one sister, Mrs. Martin Ryks.
She is survived by one son, Henry L. Eckhoff of Steamboat Rock; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
The Doyen Abels Funeral Home of Wellsburg was in charge of arrangements.
