Margaret Lynn Services Held

Funeral services for Margaret G. Lynn were held at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center, IA, on March 4, 1987, at 10:30 a.m. Pastor J. Emmett Kelewae of the First Presbyterian Church officiated.

Taped musical selections were played for the prelude and postlude.

Mrs. Ernest Blythe was in charge of the floral arrangements.

Interment was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Grundy Center, IA.

Mrs. Lynn was born on December 26, 1914, on a farm north of Reinbeck in Grundy County, IA. She passed away Saturday, February 28, at the Long Term Care Unit of the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center. She attained the age of 72 years, two months, and two days.

Margaret was the daughter of Ernest F. and Anna Broeker Smoldt. She graduated from the Grundy Center High School in 1932. She attended the Grundy College for one year and then taught in the country schools for four years.

On June 26, 1939, at Reinbeck, IA, she was united in marriage to Maurell F. Lynn. She worked at the Grundy Style Shop for about 15 years as a clerk.

Margaret was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Grundy Center.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one infant son, and three brothers.

She is survived by her husband, Maurell Lynn of Grundy Center; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Debbie Lynn of Austin, TX; one sister, Mrs. Hazel Wildman of Marshalltown; one grandson, Lonnie Lynn; one granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn; and several nieces and nephews.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
