Lloyd Davis, Age 84, Dies

Funeral services for Lloyd A. Davis, 84, were held Monday, April 13, 1987, 1:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Conrad, IA, with Rev. Timothy Soule officiating. Music was furnished by Dorothy Beeghly, soloist, and Marian Walling, organist. Casket bearers were John Wood, Dale Smith, Dale Manning, Kip Moler, Herschel Carnes, and Theryl Gale. Burial was in the Conrad Cemetery, Conrad.

Mr. Davis died Friday afternoon, April 10, 1987, at his home. The son of George T. and Emma J. Carpenter Davis, he was born December 18, 1902, at Inman, Hall County, NE, where he attended school.

On August 13, 1927, at Onawa, IA, he married Anna Bell Palmer. He was a retired farmer and blacksmith and resided in the Conrad area for the past 46 years.

Survivors include his wife, Ann; one son, James L. Davis, Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Bette L. (Mrs. Carroll) Hammon, rural Conrad, and Karen Ann (Mrs. Larry) Pierson, Hubbard, IA; three sisters, Esther (Mrs. Earl) Thompson, Merrill, IA; Maude (Mrs. Myron) Lewis, Santa Cruz, CA; and Cora Larrson, Portland, OR; two brothers, John Davis, Mesa, AZ, and Kenneth Davis, Bountiful, Utah; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and five brothers. Arrangements were made by the Johnston Funeral Home, Conrad, IA.
