Wellsburg--Alfred Freerksen, 71, Friday in Allen Memorial hospital at Waterloo, where he had major surgery Tuesday; born Feb. 14, 1881, in Shiloh township, Grundy county; was in partnership with his father and a brother in a livery stable for a year; had made his home the last 42 years with a sister, Mrs. Henry Weitkamp, at Wellsburg; also leaves another sister, Mrs. Sophie Beecroft, also of Wellsburg; preceded by parents and two brothers; funeral, 1 p.m. Monday at the Weitkamp home, later at the Second Christian Reformed church; burial in the Wellsburg Reformed cemetery.

Alfred Freerksen Passed Away Friday

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock at the Henry Weitkamp home and later at the Second Christian Reformed church for Alfred Freerksen, who died Friday at 6:00 o'clock at the Allen Memorial hospital in Waterloo as the result of complications following surgery last Tuesday for a bowel obstruction.

On Feb. 14, 1881 the deceased was born in Shiloh township to Mr. and Mrs. John Freerksen. He was of a quiet and reserved nature, a man of few words. For the past 42 years Mr. Freerksen made his home with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Weitkamp.

Surviving the deceased are two sisters, Mrs. Weitkamp and Mrs. Sophie Beecroft both of Wellsburg. Preceding the deceased in death were his parents and two brothers, Louis and John.

Interment for the deceased was made at the Reformed church cemetery.

Relatives and friends attended the funeral from Marshalltown, Waterloo, Iowa Falls, Eldora, Bradford, Whitten, Grundy Center and Ackley.
