Last Rites Held For Ruth Miller

Last rites were held Thursday afternoon, June 5th at 1:00 p.m. at the John Doyen home and later at the Second Christian Reformed church for Ruth Beverly Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Miller of Buck Grove. Interment was in the Shiloh cemetery.

Ruth lost her life in the tornado which struck her home last Monday evening. She was born in the year 1943 on Nov. 30 and was a third grade student in the Buck Grove school, Pleasant Valley No. 5 and was a scholar in the Sunday School of St. Peter's Evangelical and Reformed church. Her teacher informs us that the last verse she had committed to memory was entitled, "My Prayer" of which the verses read: "Dear Jesus help me every day, at home, at school, and at my play. Please bless my father and my mother, And help us all to love each other." She was also enrolled in the Daily Vacation Bible School at St. Peter's church.

Ruth was a little girl with a sunny disposition, quite ready to be helpful wherever needed. It is said that her New Testament was found in the ruins left by the tornado.

Surviving the deceased are her parents; a sister, Virginia; three brothers; Stanley, Mark, and David. Other survivors are the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Filer and Mrs. and Mrs. Emil Miller besides a large host of other relatives and friends.
