Services Held for August Trittien of Steamboat Rock Sun.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Presbyterian church in Steamboat Rock for August Karl Trittien, 79, who died at the home of his son, Joseph Trittien, on Jan. 1. The Rev. Richard Harbert officiated and interment was in East Friesland cemetery.

Mr. Trittien was born Jan. 26, 1873, in Germany, and came to the United States when he was a young man. He married Hiska Bunjer of Grundy Center and the couple farmed in Grundy county before retiring to Steamboat Rock. Mr. Trittien had lived alone since the death of his wife in 1936, and had gone to his son's a few days before his death.

He is survived by five children, Henry, Eldora; Joseph, Steamboat Rock; Mrs. Charles Elsig, Little Falls, Minn.; Mrs. Herb Maronn, Eldora, and Richard, Union. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
