Alene Loger was born March 10, 1917 and entered into eternal rest June 5, 1981. Funeral services were held at the Colfax Center Church, rural Holland, Iowa on June 8, 1981; Pastor Jerry VanCurler officiated.

The Kruger Sisters sang "Let's Just Praise The Lord" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus". They were accompanied by Mrs. Raymond Hinders. Mrs. Lillian Dieken played selected numbers for the prelude and postlude.

The casket bearers were Alvin Hook, Roger Hook, Lawrence Graves, John VanDeest, Robert Sealman and Ernest Flater.

The ushers were Harry Ascher and Herman Akkerman. Mrs. Melvin Saylor and Mrs. Roger Hook were in charge of the floral arrangements.

Interment was in the Colfax Center Cemetery.

Mrs. Loger was born on March 10, 1917 in Iowa City, the daughter of Hans and Sobena (Raske) Muller. She attained the age of 64 years, 2 months and 25 days. She grew up around Holland and attended Colfax No. 9 country school. She graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1935, and then went to Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Marshalltown and graduated in 1940. After graduation she practiced nursing at several area hospitals for many years.

On Feb. 22, 1942 at the farm home of her parents, she was united in marriage to Matthew Loger. After their marriage they farmed near Colfax; a short while ago they moved and made their home in Grundy Center. She was a long time member of the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church, rural Holland. She served on many committees, taught Sunday School, Catechism and Bible School for many years. She also did volunteer camp work, both as a nurse and as a counselor. She was an active nurse for the Red Cross Bloodmobiles in Grundy Center, and an active member of the Gideons Auxiliary, Marshalltown Chapter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant son.

Those left to mourn her passing are her husband, Matthew, one daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Tom Simms of RRl, Grundy Center; and 3 grandchildren.
