Last Rites For Mrs. Delbert B. Lindaman Held
Funeral services for Mrs. Delbert B. (Hilda) Lindaman were held on Thursday, February 5, at 11 a.m. at the East Friesland Presbyterian Church, rural Ackley. Rev. Donald L. Martin and Rev. Barbara Shafer officiated.
The East Friesland Choir sang a selection. Debra Oelmann was organist and Mrs. Leonard Oelmann was pianist. Scripture was read by Mrs. Jon Fisher and a poem was read by Douglas Lindaman. Two hymns were sung by the congregation.
Casketbearers were Alle Jaspers, Orville Wilts, Nobel deNeui, Bernard Cobie, Frederic Fisher and Art Jaspers. The interment service was held in the East Friesland Presbyterian Church cemetery.
Ushers were Fred Feikes, Delbert J. Lindaman and Bill Koop.
Following the committal services, relatives and friends returned to the church for a period of Christian fellowship and refreshments. The Ladies Guild served.
Brandt and Fritz Funeral Home in Ackley was in charge of the arrangements.
Hilda Lindaman was born January 5, 1917, at Wellsburg, IA to Eike and Trientje (Luppen) Ruter, the youngest of 14 children, and died on February 2, 1987.
She received her education at Shiloh No. 6 and graduated from Wellsburg high school in 1933. She later attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls and taught a rural school.
Hilda was baptized on August 12, 1919 by Rev. Wm. Landsiedel and became a member of the Wellsburg Reformed Church. On August 25, 1946, by letter of transfer, she joined the East Friesland Presbyterian Church, Ackley, where she served her church as an Elder.
December 12, 1945, was a very happy day. Hilda was united in marriage to Delbert B. Lindaman at the Wellsburg Reformed Church Manse, by Rev. Wm. Landsiedel. They have resided on the same farm for 41 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Herman, Fred, Peter and Eike; and two sisters, Grace Meyer and infant Gepka.
Hilda leaves her husband, Delbert B. Lindaman; two children, Troyce and her husband Jon Fisher of Clear Lake, and Douglas and his wife, Rosie of Ackley; three grandsons, Blake Fisher, Jeffrey Lindaman and Steven Lindaman.
She also leaves six sisters and one brother, Lena Heinrich, Jessie Finke, Gertie Riekens, Emma deNeui, Alice Ruter, John Ruter, all of Wellsburg, and Edith Beck of Des Moines.
