Alice Kolthoff, 91, of Wellsburg, died Friday, May 25 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.
Funeral services were Tuesday, May 29 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Reformed Church in Wellsburg. Pastor Harold Miller officiated. Burial was in the Shiloh Cemetery in Wellsburg. A memorial fund has been established.
Alice was born August 24, 1909 near Austinville, the daughter of Jacob and Heika (Bakker) Klooster. She was united in marriage to Kobus Kolthoff on February 19, 1930 at the Austinville Christian Reformed Church parsonage. In 1950 she became a member of the Second Christian Reformed now the United Reformed Church in Wellsburg. Alice and her husband farmed near Wellsburg and Ackley until they retired.
Alice became a member of the Friendship Manor in Wellsburg in 1988 after the death of her husband. She enjoyed the many visits of her children and grandchildren and her good neighbors at Friendship Manor.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Kobus; her parents; four sisters, Tena Kole, Hermina Johnson, Gertrude Renken, and Jenny Frey; one brother, John Klooster; a granddaughter, Lisa Geiken; and a great-grandson, Clayton Kolthoff.
Survivors include two sons Harlan and his wife Imogene Kolthoff of Wellsburg and James and his wife Marlene Kolthoff of Aplington; two daughters, Linda and her husband Daryl Geiken of Conrad and Janis and her husband James Steinmeyer of Grundy Center; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Herman and his wife Henrietta Klooster of Aplington; a sister-in-law, Margaret Klooster of Aplington; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Doyen-Abels Funeral Home, Wellsburg, was in charge of the arrangements.
