Mrs. Caroline Osier died March 25, 1896, at Morrision, Iowa, after a long and lingering illness.
Mrs. Osier was born in Essex county, N. Y., May 14, 1851. Her maiden name was Bly. She was married to David Osier in 1870. In 1871 she came west with her husband and parents, and for twenty-five years they have been residents of Grundy county. She leaves one child, Shermie Osier, some twelve years of age. For several years back she has been a loyal member and worker in the M. E. church at Morrison, and highly respected by all who knew her.
The last few weeks of her illness brought her in close relationship to her Savior, whose comforting presence she never wearied of telling to those about her bedside. Like a fettered bird that pines to fly away into the clear blue sky she longed for the white winged messenger to come and bear her soul away to paradise.
The funeral took place at the Morrison M. E. church March 26, at 2 o'clock, in the presence of a large congregation of sympathizing friends, Rev. F. Ellis preaching the sermon from Psalms 23-4, selected by the deceased a few days before her death. The remains were then laid to rest in the Morrison cemetery.
