Clarence C. Hogle, 96, of Conrad, passed away August 9, at the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad of natural causes.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, August 13, at 11 a.m. at Ivester Church of the Brethren. Pastor Tim Button Harrison and Assoc. Pastor Marlene Neher officiated. Burial was at the Sheller Cemetery.

Clarence was born March 25, 1901, the son of Myron B. and Eva M. Carter Hogle in Marshalltown.

He was married to Mae M. Bockes on January 1, 1930, at Mae's parents' home six miles north of Conrad.

Clarence was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Ivester Church of the Brethren, Conrad Lions, Grundy County Farm Bureau, Senior Citizens, Conrad School Board for 6 years serving as President for 4 years, Oakview Nursing Home Board, and Senior Citizen Housing Board.

He is survived by 2 sons, Roger M. Hogle of Ames and Howard V. Hogle of Phoenix, Arizona; 2 daughters, Phyllis Newton of Lompoc, California and Carol Krutsinger of Norfolk, Nebraska; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae on November 17, 1990; his parents; 2 sisters, Edith Hogle and Margret Ballantyne; 1 brother, Harold Hogle; and 1 half-brother, Archie Hogle.
