Rites Held For Mae Hogle, 82

Mae Hogle, 82, of Conrad, passed away Saturday, November 17, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, at the Ivester Church of the Brethren, rural Grundy Center. Rev. Louise Rieman officiated the service.

Casket bearers were Donald Butler, Everett Foster, Jay Miller, Howard Sheller, Gary Button and Lyle Neher.

Burial was in the Sheller Cemetery, rural Grundy Center.

Mae M. Hogle, daughter of Elmer and Elise Holl Bockes, was born September 23, 1908 in Palermo township, Grundy county. She graduated from the Grundy Center High School in 1927. Prior to her marriage, she taught in the country school in Grundy county for two years.

On January 1, 1930, Mae was united in marriage to Clarence Hogle at her parents' home north of Conrad.

Mae was a lifetime resident of Grundy county. She and Clarence farmed near Eldora for a few years prior to moving and farming in rural Conrad from 1935 until 1965, at which time they moved to their present home in Conrad.

Mae was a member of the Ivester Church of the Brethren, the Thursday Club, Conrad Senior Citizens, and had been a member of the Conrad Federated Women's Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.

Surviving her are her husband, Clarence; two sons, Roger M. Hogle, Ames, and Howard V. Hogle, Conrad; two daughters, Phyllis, Mrs. Jerry Newton, Lompoc, CA, and Carol, Mrs. Ronald Krutsinger, Norfolk, NE; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The Johnston Funeral Home in Conrad was in charge of the arrangements.
