Ralph Dinnes, a lifetime resident and Melrose township farmer, died at the Grundy Memorial hospital at one o'clock Thursday afternoon following a heart attack. He was 60 years old. He had been a patient in the hospital two weeks.

Funeral services were at 1:30 at the Engelkes Funeral Home in Grundy Center Sunday afternoon and later at the Ivester Church of the Brethren at Ivester. Burial was in the Grundy Center Cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. Chas. Albin, pastor of the Ivester church.

Mr. Dinnes was born on a Melrose township farm August 12th, 1893. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Dinnes, among early residents of Melrose township. On January 3, 1917, he and Lelah Heard were married. They began housekeeping on a Melrose township farm and lived there continually until four years ago when they moved to a farm north of Wellsburg. They had recently been at home in the tenant house on the Bert Davidson farm in Palermo township.

Surviving are the wife, one son Dale who is at home; three daughters, Leila, at home, Mrs. Bruce L. Newton, Grundy Center, and Mrs. Robert Lichty, Paramount, California. There are 3 grandchildren and one sister, Mae Dinnes, Eldora.
