Victor R. Davidson, 80, of Grundy Center, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2000, at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo of natural causes.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 8, at 10:30 a.m. at the Ivester Church of the Brethren, rural Grundy Center. Burial followed in the Sheller Cemetery, rural Grundy Center. Memorials may be directed to the Grundy County Hospice or the Ivester Church of the Brethren.

Pallbearers were Don and Brian Davidson, Glen Draper, Jim Miller, Courtney and Kristen Davidson.

Victor was born on April 14, 1919, in rural Grundy Center the son of Bert and Clara (Albright) Davidson. He was united in marriage to Doris Jean Munn on Oct. 21, 1945, in Lansing, MI. Victor farmed near Grundy Center most of his life until his retirement. He and his wife retired to 707 Ninth Street in Grundy Center. Prior to farming, Victor worked for 12 years at Michigan State University Dairy Department after Civilian Public Service duty at Camp Lagro, IN.

Victor was a long time member of the Ivester Church of the Brethren in rural Grundy Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Doris of Grundy Center; two sons, Roger Davidson and wife Linnea of Harlan and Donald Davidson and wife Sharon of rural Grundy Center; one daughter, Vicki Miller and Husband Jim of Newton; two granddaughters; three grandsons; and one brother, Gordon Davidson and wife Evelyn of Conrad.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center, was in charge of the arrangements.
