Services for Mrs. Retta Dinnes, 86, Ivester Community, rural Eldora, who died Saturday at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center, were held Monday afternoon at Ivester Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. John Ditmars, church pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Sheller Cemetery, with Blue Star Mothers taking part in the services. Longnecker Funeral Home, Eldora, was in charge of arrangements.

Retta Tilton was born Oct. 10, 1895 near Indianola, a daughter of Edwin and Grace Townsend Tilton. She was educated in rural schools. During August, 1921, she married Orla S. Dinnes in Des Moines.

During her married life she lived on their farm at Ivester. She entered Beverly Manor Nursing Home in Grundy Center last September. She was a member of the Ivester Church and Blue Star Mothers.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 15, 1952, three brothers, John, Carl and Edwin, and a sister, Minnie. Survivors are two sons, Fred and John Dinnes, both of rural Eldora, four grandchildren, Barbara, Norma, Mary and Phyllis, and three great-grandchildren.
