Rites Held For G. Albright, 85

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 31, at the Ivester Church of the Brethren near Eldora for Gertrude Albright, 85, who died at her rural Grundy county home on Wednesday, March 28.

Rev. Phil and Rev. Louise Rieman officiated at the services, with Pearl Miller and Forrest Kruschwitz as vocalists. Lois Kruse was organist.

Arlene Draper and LaDonna Brunk were flower ladies. Serving as casket bearers were Lloyd Draper, Victor Reist, Forrest Kruschwitz, Howard Cakerice, Roy Cakerice and Jay Miller.

Interment was in the Sheller Cemetery with Andrle and Creps Funeral Home of Eldora in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the Ivester Church of the Brethren.

Gertrude Albright was born on August 23, 1904, at Gardner, Kansas. She was the daughter of John and Marguerite Gordon Albright.

She attended rural school in Melrose township and graduated from Whitten High School. She also attended Ellsworth College in Iowa Falls. She was a rural teacher for eight years in both Grundy and Hardin counties.

She was a life-long member of the Church of the Brethren, taught Sunday school for many years and enjoyed being the assistant church librarian the last years of her life. She was also active in the Grundy County Farm Bureau and the MOH Club.

She was married to Galen Albright on June 9, 1931. She was preceded in death by her husband, Galen; one sister, Mrs. Robert Reist; her parents and an infant granddaughter, Beth Albright.

Survivors include five step-sons and their spouses, Wayne and Cora of Hampton, Lyle and Rowena of Wichita, Kansas, Miles and Gwen of Ames, Dave and Anne of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and Ellis and Miriam of Nampa, Idaho; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Beatrice) Draper of Eldora and Mrs. Rudolph (Golda) Covey of Cleveland, Tennessee.
