Jean Boike, 77, of Eldora, died Tuesday Jan. 9, at the Valley View Nursing Home, Eldora.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Biersborn Funeral Home in Union. Burial will be in the Melrose Cemetery near Whitten. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., when the family will receive friends. A memorial fund to the family has been established.

She was born Nov. 13, 1918, in Zion, N. D. She was raised and educated in Eldora and Ivester, graduating from Eldora High School.

She married Miles Boike September 1937 in Rapid City, S. D. After their marriage, they lived in Springfield, Ill. and Fort Dodge. In 1946, they moved to Whitten. She owned and operated the Alibi Lounge in Conrad until her retirement.

Survivors include two sons, Roger of Dallas and Douglas of Fayette; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a brother, Richard Kensinger of Belleville, Ill., and Lavetta Bohannon of Colorado Springs, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
