Emmett Allan Hansen, 3 months, of Newton, Iowa, died Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Emmett was born May 30, 2009 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of Matthew and Cherish (Engelkes) Hansen.

Survivors include his parents, Matt and Cherish Hansen of Newton, Iowa; a brother, Carter; maternal grandparents, Mel and Darwin Engelkes of Holland, Iowa and Eric and Sherri Ross of Wellsburg, Iowa; paternal grandparents, Allan and Valorie Hansen of Holland, Iowa; maternal great grandparents, Ronald and Doris Rieken of Wellsburg, Iowa, Delbert and Wilma Ross of Wellsburg, Iowa, and Dale and Ruth Sommerlot of Waterloo, Iowa; paternal great grandparents: JoAnn Garrett of Grundy Center, Iowa, Eugene and Darlene Shuey of Conrad, Iowa, and Sonny and Beverly Beenken of Grundy Center, Iowa; paternal great great grandmother, Naomi Pollock of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceding him in death are his maternal great grandparents Marion and Bernard Engelkes, and paternal great grandfathers, Leon Hansen and William Garrett.
