Walter F. Crosley, 59, of Holland, lost his battle with cancer and meet his Lord on Thursday, March 5, 2009. Per Walter's wishes he was cremated. Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2009 at Colfax Center Presbyterian Church, rural Holland. Burial will follow at Colfax Center Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Walter was born November 4, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to Walter F. Jr. and Joy Crosley. Walter grew up in Texas and started working with his father as a bricklayer at a young age. He was a very good at and very proud of his craft. Walter met his wife Shelly (Eilers) Crosley in Des Moines while working on a job there. They were married July 1, 1992 and moved to Wellsburg in 1995 and then to Holland in 2000. Walter laid brick in Iowa for many years, was the Masonry instructor at Ellsworth Community College and later drove semi for several local companies. Walter loved bricklaying, fishing on a lake in his floating tube, hunting, Dr. Pepper, playing video games and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his southern charm, his dancing, his sense of humor and his devotion to his family.

Walter is survived by his Shelly and their children Emily and Alex of Holland; sons, Walter Steven and Alan Paul of Texas; daughter, Chelsea of Oklahoma; sister, Lavenia Otts of Texas; brothers, Alan and Lloyd of Texas; 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Local survivors include Kenny Eilers and Lynda Strait, Delores Eilers, Steven Eilers, Tom and Debbie (JoAnn) Schell of Florida.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Reta Joy in childhood, 2 nieces and his parents in 2004.
