Geo. Boomgarden Dies Suddenly Of Heart Attack Here
George Boomgarden passed away very suddenly Wednesday morning in the doctor's office at Wellsburg due to a heart attack.
He was 64 years, 10 months, and 8 days.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Doyen Funeral Home. The Rev. Gideon Wolbrink was officiating clergyman.
Pall bearers were Jake Hippen, Delbert Hippen, Fred Wubbens, Clarence Geerdes, Jake A. Geerdes and William Bettenga. Interment was made in the Shiloh Cemetery at Wellsburg.
He was born on a farm in Hardin County near Steamboat Rock on May 4, 1904 the son of Mr. and Mrs. Heye Boomgarden, Sr. (nee Swentje Feldman). He attended the rural school in the area. In 1913, the family moved to Wellsburg. Prior to this they lived in the Laurens, Iowa area for 2 years. He and his brother were engaged in road construction for several years.
Those who survive are: 4 brothers: Heye Boomgarden, Jr. of Wellsburg; Tade Boomgarden of Wellsburg; Jake Boomgarden of Steamboat Rock; Trinus Boomgarden of Wellsburg and 4 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
