Mrs. Boomgaarden Buried Monday

Mrs. Heye Boomgaarden Sr., 92, died at her home in Wellsburg at 9:40 a.m., last Thursday. Funeral services were held Monday at 1 p.m. at the home and at 1:30 p.m. in the Wellsburg Reformed church.

Arrangements were handled by Doyen Funeral Home.

Mrs. Boomgaarden was born in Germany on December 19, 1961 [sic]. She married Mr. Boomgaarden while still living in Germany in 1889.

The couple came to the United States in 1893 and settled in Grundy county. Mrs. Boomgaarden had lived in Wellsburg 38 years. Her husband died on Apr. 29, 1944.

Surviving are five sons. Heye Jr., of Wellsburg; Jake of Steamboat Rock; Tade, Trinus and George, at home; also four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Heye Boomgaarden Sr., 92, died at Wellsburg of complications of age Thursday at her home; nee Swantje Feldman, Dec. 19, 1861, in Germany, where she was married to Heye Boomgaarden in 1889; in 1893 she came to America and settled in Grundy county; made her home at Wellsburg for 38 years; leaves five sons, Heye Jr., Tade, Trinius and George, all of Wellsburg, and Jake, Steamboat Rock; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; husband preceded her in death Apr. 29, 1944; funeral Monday at the home at 1 p.m., followed by services at the Wellsburg Reformed church; burial in the Wellsburg Reformed Church cemetery.
