Thursday morning, after a long illness, death came to the home of Mr. N. Whipple and took from the family circle the wife and mother, Mrs. Flora Whipple. She came to Iowa in 1854 with her father's family and located in Grundy county. He held the first postoffice in the county, known as Taylor Hill. Since her marriage she has lived there and near town in Butler county on a farm. Deceased was 72 years old. She leaves three sons and a daughter, who with the father mourn her loss. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. Jesse Smith and interment was in Beaver Grove cemetery. Thus has another old pioneer resident gone to the long home.
