Sophia Ganschow of Cedar Falls Dies; Funeral Friday

Funeral services for Mrs. Sophia Ganschow, 85, will be Friday, with services at the home, 816 Walnut street, at 1:30 o'clock and at First Evangelical church at 2. Rev. H. J. Faust will officiate.

Mrs. Ganschow died Tuesday afternoon at her home after a week's illness of pneumonia. She was born in Germany, Sept. 18, 1847, and in 1859 came with her parents to this community. She was married in 1873 to Ernest Ganschow who died in 1903. For many years the family lived on a farm near Fredsville, Grundy county, moving to Cedar Falls 34 years ago.

She is survived by a son and three daughters: Ernest Ganschow of Nashua, Ia.; Mrs. Andrew Nelson, Rose and Carrie, Cedar Falls. There are three grandchildren.
