Services for Mrs. Gertrude Glasner Anderson, 73, of 335 Derbyshire Rd., who died at the St. Francis Hospital at 7:35 a.m. Sunday after a lengthy illness, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church.
She was born Feb. 3, 1898, near Reinbeck, the daughter of William and Lydia Easterday Glasner.
In 1912, she came to Waterloo, where she graduated from West High School and the Waterloo Business College. She attended the University of Northern Iowa.
Mrs. Anderson taught in Bennington Township for many years.
A member of the First United Methodist Church, she taught Sunday school for 25 years.
She was a secretary at the YMCA for 13 years, and associated with Perpetual Savings and Loan for 30 years. Mrs. Anderson was the last lifetime member of the Women's Society Christian Services.
On Dec. 12, 1951, she was married to Gilbert W. Anderson in Waterloo.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. C. D. Ingols of 620 Allen St., three brothers, George L. Glasner of Herbster, Wis., Russell Glasner of Normal, Ill., and T. H. Glasner of 335 Derbyshire Rd.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother and one sister.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. Ralph Kitterman, pastor of First United Methodist Church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the O'Keefe and Towne Funeral Home from 6 p.m. Monday until noon Wednesday.
