Gary Travis, 50, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at his home. Funeral services for Gary Travis will be 10:00 am Monday at the Bethel Baptist Church, Iowa Falls, with Pastor Steve Hill officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday at the Linn's Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel. Burial will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery, Gladbrook, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. The Linn's Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Gary Horace Travis was born May 28, 1955, at Grundy Center, Iowa, the son of Henry Albert and Mabel H. B. [Busch] Travis. He attended the Grundy Center Community Schools graduating with the class of 1974. He then attended the De Vry Institute of Technology, Chicago, graduating in 1976. Gary was married to Diane L. Weber on December 24, 1979; the couple later divorced. On November 20, 1987, he was united in marriage to Linda Burdett Talbott at Grandview, Missouri; they were divorced in 1996.

In 1982 Gary started working as a technician at Welden and Seals Radio, Iowa Falls, until 1985, when he moved to Kansas to do similar work until 1988 when he returned to Iowa Falls with his second wife and a very young baby: Tracey. He began working at Stiner Radio until June 30, 2003. Following the sale of Stiner Radio he filled in as needed for Randy Roeber at R Com. After the sale of Stiner Radio, Gary also continued Citizen Band Radio repairs at his home, as long as his sight allowed. Also during this time and until his death he continued to enlarge his E-Bay sales work and coin and currency trading with other collectors. Gary had a knack for being able to recognize symptoms or a problem and remember the repair done in the past and apply it to future problems.

Gary Travis is survived by his children: Tracey Lynn Travis, Monica Marie Travis, and Matthew Steven Travis all of Iowa Falls, Iowa; his mother: Mabel H. B. Travis of Waterloo, Iowa; and two brothers: Terry William Travis and wife Carol of Fullerton, California, and Jerry Linn Travis and his wife Lisa of Waterloo, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his father: Henry A. Travis; and one brother: Larry Lee Travis.
