Frances L. Geiken, age 92, of Ackley, died on Friday, August 28, 2009 at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Wellsburg Reformed Church with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery, Ackley. Visitation will be 4-7 P.M. Sunday at the Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley.

Frances Lena Geiken was born on August 22, 1917 in Pleasant Valley Township, Grundy County, Iowa, the daughter of Jelsche and Dena (Kalkwarf) Muller. She attended country school.

On February 22, 1939 Frances was united in marriage to Henry L. Geiken at the Reformed Church. She was a homemaker, housekeeper, and helped her husband farm until 1967 when they moved to town.

Frances is survived by her three sons, Daryl and wife, Linda of Conrad, Donavon and wife, Margaret of Marshalltown, and Gaylen and wife, Judy of Ackley; a daughter, Sherilyn Geiken of Ackley; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters; a brother, John E. Muller and wife, Harriet of Grundy Center; a sister, Doreen Schlamp and husband, Dick of New Hartford; and four sisters-in-law, Harriett Muller of Holland, Lorraine Rieken (Tony) of Marshalltown, Madaline Geiken of Aplington, and Marlys Damge of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry; a granddaughter, Lisa Jean Geiken; brothers, Klaas and Elmer Muller; and sisters, Grace Kruger and Lenora Kromminga.
