Arlene F. Junker, age 88, of Wellsburg, died on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley. Funeral services are at 10:30 AM Tuesday November 17th at the West Friesland Presbyterian Church with burial in the West Friesland cemetery.Visitation will be Monday 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley.

Mrs. Arlene Junker was born September 5, 1921 in rural Wellsburg Daughter of Weert W. and Albertha (Rose) Riekena. She received her education in the rural school and graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1939.

On June 28, 1945, she was married to Raymond J. Junker and they farmed in the Aplington and Ackley areas. In 1985 she retired to Wellsburg. Arlene was a member of West Friesland Presbyterian Church of rural Ackley.

Arlene is survived by; a daughter, Karen and husband John Wedda; two granddaughters-Torri and husband Matt Nelson and Sammi and husband Gordon Goes; three great grandsons-Troy and Benjamin Nelson and Joseph Goes; Sister-in-law JoAnn Hippen; brother-in-law Vernon Junker and many nieces and nepthews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986, her parents, two sisters Evelyn Harms and Gladys Korte, a brother Willard Rickena, and a sister and brother in infancy.
