Bennie Siems, age 94, of Ackley, died on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley. Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Monday, December 28th at the Washington Reformed Church, Ackley with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery, Ackley. Visitation will be 2-4 P.M. Sunday at the Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley.

Bennie was born on November 15, 1915, in Dumont, Iowa, the son of Fred and Tillie (Hovenga) Siems. He was united in marriage to Edna Mae Kappel on December 11, 1944 at the Washington Reformed Church.

Bennie is survived by his son, Marv Siems of Laurel; a daughter, Darlene Benning and her husband, Keith of Ackley; four grandchildren, Jeff Siems of Blue Springs, MO, Bradley Benning and his wife, Jessica of Ackley, Beth Brinkman of Charles City, and Darin Benning and his wife, Andrea of Ackley; 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Boelts and Marion Boelts both of Wellsburg and Evie Siems of Clinton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edna; one sister, Sena Franken; and four brothers Sweer, John, Freddie and Raymond Siems.
