Theda Janssen, age 88, of Ackley, died on Thursday, February 25th at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley. Funeral services will be Saturday 10:00 A.M. at the West Friesland Church in Ackley with burial in the West Friesland Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 4-7 P.M. at the Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley.
A memorial fund has been established.

Theda Janssen was born on February 21, 1921 in German Township, Ackley, Iowa, the daughter of Casper and Fannie (Boelman) Boelman. She graduated from 8th grade at the German Tsp. School. On February 5, 1941 Theda was united in marriage to Gerald Janssen at the St. Peter's German Tsp, rural Wellsburg. She was a homemaker, a member of the West Friesland Church since 1942, and was a charter member of WIC.

Theda is survived by her two sons, Gerry of Port Chester, NY and Terry and his wife, Fumi of Seattle, WA; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Pottgetter of Ackley and Wilma Boelman of Ackley; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; a sister, Tillie DeVries; and brothers, Joe, George, Walbert, Calvin, and William Boelman.
