Lynn Boelman passed away February 28th, 2010, at the Presbyterian Village while under North Iowa Hospice Care. Funeral services will be Saturday 1:30 P.M. at the Bethel Reformed in Aplington with inurnment in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 5-8 P.M. at the Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley.

Lynn Alan Boelman was born in Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, Iowa on March 5th, 1948 as the only child to Wolbert E. (Bert) and Minnie Kreimeyer Boelman. He was raised on the family farm northwest of Ackley and graduated from Ackley High School in May, 1966. That fall he attended the former Area XI Community College (now known as DMACC) in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated in May of 1968 with a degree in electronics. After graduation, he began employment with the Dictaphone Corporation of Des Moines servicing and repairing dictating equipment.

On August 29, 1969, he was married to Lois A. Eckhoff of Steamboat Rock in the First Christian Reformed Church, rural Wellsburg. Lynn and Lois were blessed with two daughters, Christa and Shannon.

In September of 1971, the couple moved to Eldora, Iowa where Lynn was employed with the United Eggs, Inc.-a division of United Suppliers. The spring of 1976, they moved to the family farm; started farming; and farrowed hogs and sold feeder pigs. In March of 1995, Lynn and Lois moved to Ackley. He helped Darwin Hill of Latimer farm for several years; employed with Quality Ag of Alden until that company was sold; and was employed at the time of his death for Hog Slat, Inc. of Iowa Falls in retail sales.

He is survived by his wife; children Christa and Scott Mooi of Ankeny; Shannon and Gary Jepsen of Polk City; one grandson-Kellan Mooi; and three granddaughters-Natalie; Claire; and Carly Jepsen. Also surviving are: mother-in-law, Louise Eckhoff of Presbyterian Village, Ackley; brother-in-law, John Oliviera of California; brother-in-law Paul (Luanne) Eckhoff of Creston; and sister-in-law, Arlys (Randy) Eckel of Belle Plaine; several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Henry L. Eckhoff; one sister-in-law, Verda Oliviera; and one grandson, Eli Jepsen.
