Reinbeck--Clifford A. Buffington, 78, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Luther A. Morrill, following a stroke of apoplexy which he suffered several days ago; born in Maryland, May 1, 1863, son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Buffington; family moved from there to Carroll county, Illinois, in 1877; on Dec. 24, 1891, he was married at Grand Chain, Ill., to Miss Belle Moyer; in 1892 they came with his parents to a farm near Morrison, Grundy county, Iowa, where for a number of years he farmed with his father; later with his family he moved to a farm southeast of Morrison, where he remained until 1918, when he retired to Morrison; lived there until 1932, when they came to Reinbeck to make their home with their daughter; Mrs. Buffington died in 1934, but he continued to make his home here most of the time since; leaves four children: Lloyd Buffington, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Leota Morrill, Parkersburg; Donald Buffington, Hudson, and Mrs. Luther Morrill; one brother and two sisters: H. C. Buffington, Morrison; Mrs. John W. Dew, Morrison, and Mrs. Emma W. Dew, Morrison, and Mrs. Emma Drenner, Freeport, Ill.; one child died in infancy, and one brother preceded him; member of the Modern Woodmen of America; funeral 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the French funeral home here; burial in Morrison cemetery.

C. A. Buffington Dies From Stroke At Reinbeck

Clifford A. Buffington died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Luther A. Morrill, at Reinbeck Sunday morning (31 August 1941). He suffered a stroke of apoplexy two days before from which he was unable to revive. He was 78 years old and had been a resident of Grundy county 49 years.

Funeral services were held at the French funeral home in Reinbeck Tuesday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. C. Hickman. Burial was by the side of the wife in the cemetery at Morrison.

Mr. Buffington was born in Maryland, May 1, 1863, son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Buffington. On Dec. 24, 1891, he was married at Grand Chain, Ill., to Miss Belle Moyer. In 1892 they came with his parents to a farm in Grundy county. Later he moved to a farm southeast of Morrison. In 1918 he moved to Morrison. In 1932 they came to Reinbeck to make their home with their daughter. Mrs. Buffington died in 1934.

Surviving children are: Lloyd Buffington, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Leota Morrill, Parkersburg, and Donald Buffington, Hudson. One brother and two sisters, H. C. Buffington, Morrison, Mrs. John W. Dew, Morrison, and Mrs. Emma Grenner, Freeport, Ill., also survive.

He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.
