Gladys Bakker Services Set
Reinbeck--Services for Gladys J. Bakker, 80, Morrison, who died Monday at Parkview Care Center, Reinbeck, where she had resided the past nine months, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Reinbeck. The Rev. Kenneth Wilhite will officiate. Burial will be in Washington Township Cemetery, rural Morrison.
Mrs. Bakker was born Jan. 26, 1904, to Thomas H. and Cordabelle Needham McCulloh in Tennessee. She moved with her family to Reinbeck when she was six.
On Dec. 19, 1922, she married Albert Gobel of Reinbeck. He died in 1954.
On Sept. 8, 1956, she married Manne Bakker of Reinbeck and he died in 1979.
Mrs. Bakker was a 75-year member of the First Baptist Church.
Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one grandson.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Bernita E. Newell, Reinbeck and one grandson, David Newell, San Diego, Ca.

We were saddened to hear of the death of Gladys Bakker on Monday morning. She had been a resident of the Parkview Manor at Reinbeck for the past six months. She had observed her 80th birthday on Jan. 26. Gladys had served as the substitute rural carrier of Morrison for a number of years and also had served a year as the acting postmaster of Morrison in 1955 and 1956. She is survived by her daughter, Bernita Newell of Reinbeck, and a grandson, David Newell of San Diego, CA, and a sister, Ruby Lau of Des Moines. Funeral services were held in the First Baptist Church at Reinbeck at 11:00 on Thursday and burial in the Washington Township Cemetery south of Morrison.
