Services For Henry Dingel

Henry Dingel, 68, of Parkersburg, passed away on Thursday, December 20, at Sartori Hospital in Cedar Falls.

Services were held on Saturday, December 22, in the Schwartz-Engelkes Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Rev. James Beranek, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Parkersburg officiating.

Casket bearers were Dennis Haan, Doug Rewerts, Steve Adelmund, Larry Smith, Charles Bownes and Raymond Vanderventer.

Interment was in Fairfield Township Cemetery, southwest of New Hartford.

Henry Dingle, son of John and Reka Sitters Dingel was born on August 8, 1922 in Holland. He attended school in Morrison. As a young man he was employed by the Northwestern Railroad and worked as a fireman. He served in the Pacific with the U.S. Army during WWII.

On August 31, 1946, he was united in marriage to Lillian Adelmund at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They lived in Grundy county before moving to their present farm acreage, east of Stout, in 1959. Henry was employed at Viking Pump in Cedar Falls for 32 years, retiring in 1984.

Mr. Dingel enjoyed fishing with his family in Iowa lakes and rivers.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Eddie Dingel; and two sisters, Tena Hummel and Lizzie Smith. He is survived by his wife, Lillian of rural Parkersburg; two daughters, Helen Joan, Mrs. Dennis Haan, of Baraboo, WI, and Linda, Mrs. Douglas Rewerts, of Dike; one son, Henry K. Dingel of Grundy Center; one brother, Carl John Dingel of Morrison; and eight grandchildren.

Schwartz-Engelkes Funeral Home in Parkersburg was in charge of funeral arrangements.
