Services Held For Wayne Dew

Wayne Dew, 92, of Gladbrook, passed away Saturday, November 10 (1990), at the Long Term Care Unit of the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 14, at the Salem Federated Church of Lincoln in Lincoln at 10:30 a.m., with the Pastor Rick Meyer officiating.

Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery, rural Gladbrook.

Wayne Dew, son of John W. and Lillie Buffington Dew, was born July 30, 1898, in Washington Township, Grundy county, where he grew up and attended school. He graduated from Morrison High School.

Wayne worked for a time in the Oklahoma oil fields.

On February 20, 1931, he was united in marriage to Minerva Budolfsen in Eldora.

Wayne worked at a service station in Lincoln for a year and then farmed in Tama county until his retirement in 1965. He had been a resident of the Long Term Care Unit since November 21, 1989.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Glenn Dew; and one sister, Beatrice Bryant.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Minerva, of Gladbrook; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Caroline Dew of Grundy Center, and Mrs. Verna Gale of Rudd; one brother-in-law, Harold Bryant of Cedar Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of the professional arrangements.
