MOSSVILLE, Ill. - Lillian D. Shane, 88, of Mossville, Ill., died Friday, Aug. 20, 2004. Private family services will be at a later date. Cremation will be accorded.

Lillian was born Jan. 22, 1916, in Wellsburg to Richard and Antje Kramer Janssen. She graduated from Iowa Falls High School. On April 2, 1946, she was united in marriage to Earl I. Shane in Las Vegas, Nev. He died Jan. 12, 1971, in Peoria, Ill. Lillian was a postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years, retiring in 1991. She and her husband owned and operated Standard Oil Service Station in Mossville for 30 years. She was a member of the Mossville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Darlene Dunbar and husband Donald of Pekin, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Leila Kruger and husband Roy of Garner, and Eloise Lund and husband Bob of Iowa Falls; one stepson, Neal of Clear Lake; one sister, Alice Janssen of Iowa Falls; two grandson; two great-grandsons; 18 step grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers; four sisters; and one grandson.

Davison-Fulton Anderson Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
