ELDORA - Arleen Moore, 88, of Eldora died Friday, June 11, 2004, at Valley View Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 16, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Eldora with Pastor Fred Rosenkrans officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memory Garden in Eldora.

Arleen was born March 1, 1916, in Wellsburg to John and Rena (Claassen) Freerksen. She graduated from the Steamboat Rock High School in 1932. On Aug. 24, 1936, Arleen was united in marriage to Charles "Hib" Moore in Marshalltown. They lived in Ackley, Newton and Marshalltown, residing in Eldora since 1946. She worked in her husband's business, Moore Oil Co., in Eldora as bookkeeper. Arleen was a member of the First Assembly of God.

Survivors include one son, John of Spokane, Wash.; two grandchildren, Shawn Penningroth of Mesa, Ariz., and Laura Penningroth of Aiken, S.C.; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Janice Miller; her parents; and three brothers, Elmer, Arthur and Leslie.

Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora is in charge of arrangements.
