WELLSBURG - Dena Nederhoff, 91, of Wellsburg died Saturday, May 15, 2004, at the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center. Funeral services were Tuesday, May 18, at the Wellsburg Reformed Church in Wellsburg with Pastor Todd Rempe officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill cemetery in Grundy Center.

Dena was born June 14, 1912, to John and Gepka (Behrends) Niehaus in Grundy Center. On Dec. 21, 1938, she was united in marriage to Gratus Nederhoff at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple settled on a farm in rural Conrad, moving later to a farm in rural Wellsburg. In 1978, they moved to Wellsburg.

Survivors include one son, Don and wife Faye of Ackley; three daughters, Joan Winger of Wellsburg, Harriet Off and husband Harley of Iowa Falls and Donna Kramer and husband Kelly of Aplington; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Beverly Roberts; six sisters, Mary Veld, Jo Harris, Dehlia Krull, Minnie Miller, Annie Nederhoff and one sister in infancy; and two brothers, Cap and John Niehaus.

Doyen-Abels Funeral Home of Wellsburg was in charge of arrangements.
