GRUNDY CENTER, ASSESSMENT

Capt. Eaton has about completed the assessment for Grundy Center. The valuation of the assessable property will be almost $300,000. He finds the population of the town to be 1,480--an increase of 321 since the census of 1890. Not a bad showing for a town backed up wholly by an agricultural community. With the Winona and Southwestern railroad running through the town Grundy Center ought to show a population of 2500 people before 1895.
