Nora Abbott

Nora Ellen Abbott daughter of Jesse and Pheobe Kinkennon Still, was born December 13, 1904, at the home of her parents in Union County and died July 25, 1985, at Jefferson manor at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 12 days.

Nora received her education in the rural school near her parents home. After her schooling, she stayed at home to help raise her brothers and sisters.

In 1924, Nora was married to Lawrence Fry at Dexter, They were the parents of one daughter, Martha Lawrence was killed in a tree trimming accident shortly after their marriage.

In 1926, Nora was married to Fred Renslow. They made their home in Guthrie County area near Fansler. They were the parents of one daughter, Marie. Fred died 1945.

In 1947, Nora was married to Frank Abbott at Carroll. They made their homein Jefferson. Due to failling health, Nora became a resident of Jefferson mnaor in 1983 where she lived at the time of her death.

Nora was a member of the Rebekah Lodge where she had served as Past Noble Grand. She was also a member of Royal Neighbors of America. She enjoyed gardening and working with flowers. She was a very loving mother and always tried to teach her children to love one another.

Nora was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; four brothers, a sister and a grandson. She is survived by her two daughters, Martha (Mrs. Burtain Wetzel og Guthrie Center, and Marie (Mrs. Vern) Moore of Council Bluffs; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Still of Rolfe; Sisters Lula (Mrs. Arlo) Richards of Creston; Mrs Mabel Irwin of Des Moines and Mrs. Bertha Ashbaugh of Panora. Other relives and many friends.
