MERLE OUTTRIM
Merle A. Outtrim, 86, of Churdan died Sunday at Stewart Memorial Hospital in Lake City of complications of a fall. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Churdan, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Highland Township Cemetery in Churdan.

Mr. Outtrim was born in Greene County and had farmed in the county before moving to Churdan in 1967. He was a retired insurance agent for Outtrim-Unger Insurance Agency in Churdan. He was a member of Churdan Lions Club. He held offices in his church and served on the Paton-Churdan school board, the Greene County school board and the Churdan Farmers Elevator board.

He is survived by two sons, Gary of Leola, S.D., and Gail of St. Charles, Mo. and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Signe.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home in Churdan, where the family will be present from 4 to 5 p.m. and also from 7 to 8 p.m., and where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.
