SERVICES FOR GEORGE FLACK ARE HELD HERE

Funeral service for George Alfred Flack, 45, were conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, in the Slininger chapel, with the Rev. Dick Harberts, pastor and of First Presbyterian church, officiating.

Casket bearers were Darrell Fountain, Floyd Fountain, Verne Lamb, Walter Stidwell, Loran Durlam and John Owen. Burial was in Jefferson cemetery.

George Flack was born March 31, 1913, in Jefferson to George W. and Mary Flack. He spent the early days of his youth in Jefferson, until his family moved to Ames, where he completee his schooling, graduating from high school there. For a time he attended Iowa State college.

In 1936 Mr. Flack went to southern California and settled in Hollywood. In 1942 he entered the service of his country at Los Angeles, California, and served as a yoeman in the U. S. Navy at Dutch Harbor, Alaska.

After his discharge he returned to the Hollywood and Los Angeles area, whrere he worked as a purchaser for Lockheed Aircarft.

Mr. Flack's recent illness brought him to Rochester, Minnesota, where he sought treatment and then to the Greene County Hospital in Jefferson, where he passed away on Sunday.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Capt., James L. Flack, who lost his life in World War II, and one brother, who died in infancy. He is survived by uncles, aunts, other relatives and many friends.
