Funeral services were held Tuesday, Noevember 29, from First Baptist Church in Churdan for Eva M. Harlow, 85 of Jefferson former longtime Churdan area resident.

The Rev. Frank McAuley, minister of the church, officiated. Richard Carey was soloist accompanied by Mrs. Conrad Juergensen.

Casket bearers were Phillip, Mark, and Jerry Harlow and Craig and Lee Haar. Interment was in Highland Township Cemetery.

The Slininger funeral Home of Jefferson was in charge of services.

Eva Malinda Harlow was born February 29, 1892, near Churdan in Greene county. She was the daughter of Charles and Laura Fackler Andrew. Eva grew to womanhood near Churdan and attended rural schools in that area.

On March 12, 1912, she was united in marriage with Verle Harlow at the home of the bride's parents. The couple farmed in Greene county until 1945 when they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. After Mr. Harlow's death in 1953 Eva continued to live in Lincoln. In 1976 she moved to Jefferson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Churdan.

Mrs. Harlow died Saturday, November 26, in Jefferson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Gloyd, three brothers, George, Dale and Dean and one sister, Esther.

Those who survive include her children, Gerald Harlow of Des Moines and Mrs. Lois Haar of Lincoln, Nebraska; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Harlow of Des Moines; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Clarence [Edith] Smith of Churdan and Mrs. Paul [Ruth] Colony of Cedar Rapids; and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Andrew of Hudson and Mrs. Mima Andrew of Whittier, California
