Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 5, from First Baptist Church for Ruth Flack, 76, of Lake City, longtime Churdan and Lohrville area resident.

The Rev. Frank Fagerburg of Green Lake, WI, and the Rev. Ken Peterson of Lake City officiated. Charles Curtis was solist and Mrs. Conrad Juergensen was organist.

Casket bearers were Michael, Steven, Lonny, Randy, Gary and Tim Flack. Interment was in Highland Township Cemetery at Churdan.

The Slininger Funeral Home of Jefferson was in charge of services.

Ruth Lucille Flack, daughter of William and Daisy Olds Groesbeck, was born June 27, 1901, at Lorimor. She grew to womanhood in southern Iowa in several locations as her father was a minister.

Ruth graduated from McPherson Academy and later attended one year of college at Central College in McPherson, KS. She then taught in rural schools for a few years.

On September 15, 1922, Ruth was united in marriage with Dewey Flack in Shenandoah. They were the parents of three sons, Alfred, Alvin and Aldean.

Mr. and Mrs. Flack farmed in the Churdan and Lorville communities until they retired and moved into Lake City. Mrs. Flack was continued to live in Lake City after her husband's death in April 1970.

She was a member of the Baptist Church and the Church Missionary Society.

Ruth died Saturday, April 1, in Lake City. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother.

Those who survive include her three sons and daughters-in-law, Aldean and Clara Mae Flack of Colo, Alvin and Donna Flack of Nevada, Iowa and Alfred and Shirley Faye Flack of Huxley; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter Groesbeck of Winona Lake, Indiana; three sisters, Mrs. Lloyd [Grace] Pfoff of Laguna Hills, CA; Mary Salstrand and Mrs. Fred [Kathryn] Ulrich, both of Oakland, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
