THE REPORTER, CHURDAN, IOWA - FEBRUARY 23, 1917

The sad word came to Churdan Monday morning announcing the death of Mrs. Maude Guysinger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Clipperton, which occurred at her home near Rockwell City early that morning. This lady had only been sick a short time, and her condition was not thought to be serious, so her death was a severe shock to the family and friends. She leaves three small children, her husband, and many relatives and friends to mourn her death. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at Jolley. Several relatives from this city attended the funeral.

DEATH OF MRS. LEW GEISINGER

After an illness with typhoid fever extending over several weeks, Mrs. Lew Geisinger passed away on Monday morning February 19th, at her home on the George Lory farm southwest of Jolley. The sad news came as a great shock to a wide circle of friends, who though they had realized her serious condition had been earnestly hoping she might recover from the dread disease. Besides her husband and other relatives she leaves three children to mourn her untimely death, including twins about two years old. Mrs. Geisinger was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Clipperton, and Mr. Geisinger is son to Mrs. Oliver Michaels of Rockwell City. Deceased was well known and highly respected by all, and the community suffers a distinct loss in her taking away. The funeral service took place from the Methodist Episcopal church in Jolley Tuesday afternoon. The grief-stricken family and relatives have the deepest sympathy of the community in their sorrow - Rockwell City Advocate
