THE CHURDAN REPORTER NEWS, CHURDAN, IOWA - JANUARY 5, 1912
ANDREW DEAD

Charles Edward Andrew was born in Clayton County, Iowa, April 17, 1866. Moved with his parents to Washington County, Iowa, in 1867, where his mother died. In 1867 the family then returned to Clayton County, Iowa, afterwards to Greene County, in 1871. He departed this life at the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, December 30, 1911. Age 45 years, 8 months, 13 days.

On March 5th, 1890 he was united in marriage with Larna M. Fackler. This union was blessed with five children, George, Eva, LeRoy, Dale, Dean. LeRoy died July 31, 1895, aged 20 months. October 12, 1899, the beloved mother and wife was called home to be with her Savior and departed child.

February 26, 1902, Mr. Andrew was united in marriage to Eva M. Fackler. God blessed this union with three little girls, Edith, Esther and Ruth, age 1 1/2, 4, and 6 years respectively. January 1900 Mr. Andrew was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Churdan and has lived a faithful Christian life, never losing faith in the saving power of his Blessed Master.

In Mr. Andrew's death the community has lost a good neighbor, one that was ready at all times to help his fellowmen; the children a kind loving father, and the wife a devoted and loving husband.

In the last four weeks of his life he suffered a great deal, yet he bore his sufferings so cheerfully. He often expressed his ideas, saying he would like to live for his family needed him, yet if his Savior wanted him he was ready to go.

While lying on his bed of sickness he would sing, and tell them when he had to be left alone that he was not alone, his Savior was with him and he could talk to with him. Our friends and loved one has gone from us but we know he is safe with Jesus and that some day we may go to him. Blessed are they who die in the Lord.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, January 2, at the M. E. church, conducted by Rev. C. B. Guest. It was one of the largest funerals ever held in this city.
