RITES CONDUCTED LAST THRUSDAY FOR MRS. GILBERT

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Slininger chapel for Mrs. Alice Gilbert, 72, who died Saturday, at Harlan. Evangelist A. R. Kepple of Kansas City, MO was in charge of the services. Evangelist J. W. McPherson of the Church of Christ in Jefferson and Evangelist Roy Brinker of Harlan also took part in the final rites. Interment was in the Jefferson Cemetery.

Wendell Wright, soloist, sang "Shall We Meet" "Will the Circle be Unbroken" and "Going down the Valley." Casket bearers were Ray Graven, Dick White, Sam Hoffman, Meredith Shriver, Lee Whitsell and George Hartwigsen.

Alice Trosper was born in Davis county, MO, October 15, 1874, and died at Harlan, March 15, 1947, at the age of 72 years, 5 months. She was united in marriage to James B. Gilbert December 20, 1893.

She was baptised in the year 1899 and has been a member of the Church of Christ since that time.

She spent her life living in the states of Missouri, Kansas and Iowa, the last 24 years having been spent in Greene county.

Mrs. Gilbert was the mother of six children, two having died in infancy, and a son, Wilford Gilbert having died in 1929. Her husband preceded her in death 11 years ago.

She is survived by three children: V. M. Gilbert of Colorado Springs, CO, Mrs. Fred Blair of Harlan and Mrs. Clifford Fiscus of Perry; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Margret Potts of Breckenridge, MO, Mrs. Fannie Mitten of Moorseville, MO, Charles Trosper of Breckenridge, MO, and Virgil Trosper of Hamilton, MO, and many nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.

Among out-of-town relatives here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Trosper, Margret Potts and the children of Mrs. Mitten.
